By accessing or using PDF Annotations at pdfannotations.com (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
“Service” refers to the website and web application available at pdfannotations.com.
“We”, “us”, and “our” refer to the operator of the Service.
“You” and “your” refer to the person or entity using the Service.
“Pro” refers to paid subscription features.
PDF Annotations provides a browser‑based utility to view and extract highlights, comments, and notes from PDF files. The Service includes free features and paid subscription (Pro) features. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
To access certain features you must sign in using an OAuth provider (Google or GitHub) or an email magic link when available. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity under it. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
We do not store full payment card numbers, card last four digits, or billing card details. Creem handles card data and PCI compliance. We store only minimal subscription metadata required to operate the Service (e.g., subscription status and Creem transaction ID).
You may not use the Service to upload illegal content, infringe intellectual property, attempt to reverse engineer the Service, interfere with operations, bypass usage limits, or otherwise abuse the Service. Violations may result in suspension or termination.
We own the Service’s trademarks, branding, and codebase. You may not use our trademarks without permission. You retain ownership of your own content.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal data. By using the Service you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. We retain only minimal subscription metadata necessary to provide the Service and comply with accounting or legal requirements. We do not retain users’ PDF files.
The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for direct damages arising from or related to these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third‑party rights.
We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach, illegal activity, non‑payment, or abuse. Upon termination, access to Pro features ends. Minimal records may be retained as required by law.
If you believe that content published directly on the Service (such as text, images, branding, or other materials we provide) infringes your copyright, you may submit a notice to support@pdfannotations.com.
The Service does not store or host users’ PDF files; all PDF processing occurs in the user’s browser.
Upon receiving a valid notice regarding content we control, we will review the complaint and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable law.
If a dispute arises out of or relates to these Terms, the parties will first attempt in good faith to resolve it through negotiation. If unresolved after 30 days, the parties may agree in writing on a mutually acceptable forum or method of dispute resolution.
We may modify these Terms. Material changes will be announced 30 days in advance. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement.
