Can I export Word comments to Excel?

Yes. Review the comments and choose Excel (.xlsx). Excel export is a Pro format; CSV is available for free and opens in Excel, Google Sheets, and Numbers.

Can I export only Word comments without the document text?

Yes. The export contains comments and comment metadata, not the full document body. Anchor text is limited to the text linked to each comment when it can be read reliably.

Does this work with .docx files from Microsoft Word?

It works with standard .docx documents that store comments in the Word Open XML package. Legacy .doc files are not supported in V1; re-save them as .docx first.

Are Word comments processed locally?

Yes. Parsing and export run in your browser. The document is not uploaded to PDFAnnotations or a third-party processing service.

Can I filter Word comments by author?

Yes. The author filter lists authors stored in the DOCX. You can also search comment text, anchor text, and comment IDs before exporting.

Can I include Word page numbers?

V1 does not infer page numbers. A .docx stores logical document content rather than a fixed printed layout, so a reliable page number requires Word to repaginate the document. Empty page-number columns are not exported.

Does this extract Track Changes or Word version history?

No. Comments, Track Changes revisions, and Microsoft 365 version history are different data. This tool extracts comments stored in the current .docx.

What happens if my document has no comments?

The document is parsed and the tool shows an empty-comments state. No export file is produced until at least one comment is visible.
